"As a child of the 20th century now living in the 21st, I see it as my heritage and responsibility to seek a positive way forward in the ethnically mixed, socially diverse, globalized world I live in. Retreating into an imagined past of ethnic purity that ignores the current day strikes me as silly at best, repulsive at worst."<br /><br />You deserve to be lobotomised with a sharp stick.Krist Krusherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08897029857286701811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2443926733658770096.post-49941655634008806302011-11-29T19:46:08.977-05:002011-11-29T19:46:08.977-05:00Thanks, Anonymous Celt, for a very interesting alt...Thanks, Anonymous Celt, for a very interesting alternative view of the situation. I think it is admirable that you pursuing a reconstruction of Celtic Paganism with an open-ethnic approach. The emphasis on preserving and upholding a cultural tradition rather than an ethnic identity is highly praiseworthy, in my view. My sharp criticisms about tribalism do not apply to what you are doing, and I thank you. It is a tribalism that verges on racism that is problematic, not what you are doing. My view, anyway. Your post also reveals how terms like "tribe" can be open to different interpretations, which is always something to bear in mind.Maelstromhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14875423418826420350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2443926733658770096.post-30848723700091410992011-11-29T13:35:05.560-05:002011-11-29T13:35:05.560-05:00My freind i agree w/ all you say and ideas you pre...My freind i agree w/ all you say and ideas you present except , that seeking a tribal path is bad. Most of us here, consider ourselves part of the Celtic Dispora. I found a group Called Sinnsreachd that seeks to live within the old Gael/Celtic mindset within modern society a recon aproach. We believe the the Celt Mindset works better than the modern ways and we will eventualy look to set up our own tribe . altho cultural in outlook , we will except anyone who will live by our ways reguardless of thier own ethnicity or origon. We follow the old celtic/geal ways and Gods within our modern society and technology. To be part of Sinnsreachd you don't need to of Celt heritage , just willing to live as a celt Sinnsreachd does.Altho most, not all, of us are cultural and or heriditary Celts .We live as we consider it, in a host society wanting one day to have our own soveriegn homeland living by our own ways .
